What happens next?
Our partners will sort every item according to their condition with the purpose to keep its highest value, prioritizing reuse before recycling.
RESALE - garments that can be worn again are sold as second-hand clothes.
REPURPOSE & RECYCLE – old garments and textiles that cannot be resold are repurposed or recycled into other products such as cleaning cloth or insulating material.
TEXTILE to TEXTILE RECYCLING – a small percentage of collected garment and textiles are suitable to be recycled into new fibre.
ENERGY RECOVERY – the garments and textiles that don’t fit into any other category will be disposed of in a responsible way, prioritizing energy recovery when possible.
Our collecting and sorting partners (Looper Textile Co. for Europe), Remondis (outside of Europe as well as local partners in China, Japan, and India) collect the garments and transport them to a certified sorting or recycling facility among their networks.
